Welcome to the neighbourhood. Things have changed over the past 100 years.

Welcome to this neighbourhood in the making. From Indigenous history to the rise and fall of industry, you are about to explore an area that has taken shape over hundreds of years.

Stop 2 map showing path from Stop 1 to 2: Cross the street at the lights and head west on the northside of Queen St. until Verral Ave. Reliable Fish and Chips is at the corner. Go north on Verrall Ave. until Colgate Ave. Head west on Colgate St. and walk 100 metres. Careful! This is a residential street but there is no designated crosswalk. Cross Colgate St. safely to John Chang Neighbourhood Park. Can you find the plaque? This is your stop.

It was not all work. Employees socialized in company-sponsored sports teams.

The Dundas and Carlaw factories were also very social places. Baseball, bowling, golf, and more — the workers at this graphic design and printing firm excelled at it all.

This plant produced Wrigley’s famous gums, in peace and wartime.

This towering factory produced Wrigley’s famous Doublemint, Spearmint, and Juicy Fruit gums. The Wrigley company was also a marketing pioneer that mastered the art of persuasion.

Stop 8 map showing path from Stop 7 to 8: Staying on the south side of the street, head west on Dundas towards Logan Ave. On the way you will pass a mural - more on this at our next stop. Once you reach Logan Ave., head north at the lights. A plaque about our next stop, the Woods building, is located on the corner. Check it out on your way! Continue north on Logan Ave. until you see a small set of stairs on your right. Head up the stairs - at the top, look up at the Woods building and tower - this is your next stop.
